Notes and documentation

Space for notes, documentation, and best practices for using these components.

Show what happened, who did it and when

An activity feed is a chronological log. Lead each item with the person, describe the action in plain language, and put the time next to the name so the list scans quickly.

Use the Messages type for conversations and the Notifications type for system events; choose a divider (connector, line or rule) that matches how tightly the items relate.

Do

  • Group by day for long feeds
  • Use supporting items (files, labels, comments) sparingly

Don't

  • Mix both feed types in the same list
